Counselling at TasIVF

TasIVF provides a counselling service for any specialist guidance and care you may need, during your IVF experience.

Fertility treatment and IVF is a challenging process, so it’s good to know that help is never far away. Lyn Quayle is TasIVF’s in-house, registered psychologist with over 30 years’ experience providing all kinds of counselling – ranging from child psychology and adoption services to relationship counselling, personal counselling and corporate counselling for large organisations. She’s also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australia and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA).
Lyn Quayle, Counsellor, TasIVF
Lyn provides guidance and a safe environment for you to discuss whatever is on your mind or is troubling you. You might be struggling to come to terms with this unexpected direction your life is taking and want to learn some new strategies to build up your resilience. You might feel lost and alone and need some help finding your place again. Counselling gives you the opportunity to look at your current responses and learn not just to cope, but to develop emotionally from the experience. It’s common for patients to feel reduced self-esteem and grief when dealing with infertility, and Lyn is experienced in providing support to individuals and couples to manage this emotional impact.

We encourage all patients to access our counselling service (free during the IVF treatment cycle and at other times, for a modest fee). Counselling can help you explore and make decisions about your treatment options. Lyn also works in the donor program, providing not only the initial mandatory counselling but also advice or facilitation, if required, at later stages of your journey, such as telling your child of its donor origins or introducing a young person to its donor.

No matter what happens in your fertility journey, Lyn is here to listen and support you. Many patients feel reassured and strengthened as a result of our non-judgemental and professional counselling process. What’s more, your first session (per IVF cycle) is free, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
